Summer TV's Oxymoron : The Word 'TALENT 'and Three of These Judges !!

America cetainly has talent...... less though maybe in choosing those who judge the talented ones  !!

  1. So much media. So much time and space to fill. So few real talents to fill that space. The internet will in all likelyhood take over as the home entertainment center while still filling other needs. But then I fear the 'third parties/advertisers' will take over and make decisions for us as to what we find entertainment and we'll be in the same pickle all over again.

    1984 was a futuristic book but just because it's past doesn't mean "Big Brother" hasn't stopped trying to dominate.

    Don't mind me, I just got done listening to a Jefferson Airplane album. (c;

  2. And along comes the terrorist scare to seemingly give more reason to Big Brother to watch over us even more closely ! Good point , Jim... These last two days you seem to be popping up everywhere making pertinent comments galore !! So much energy ! I'm slowing down a bit now after a great salmon supper ! Best wishes to Doan !

  4. Summer tv is awful. I avoid the mainstream channels. I find that some cable channels have a really good shows on. Much better made than anything CBS, etc. puts out. And I watch shows I normally would not watch & find sometimes they are pretty good.

    I am waiting for some major terror event or threat of one or something near the election to try to scare people to vote for the right-wingers.

  5. I know many others who fear with us. And those right wingers never fail us. THAT is what is sad.

  6. I dont understand why the TV execs think we like this REALITY crap television? These judges suck..all of them...I cant stand to watch any of them.

  7. As I understand it these shows are much, much cheaper to produce then a series of let us say doctors, or police, or lawyers. (We don't have any of these on TV nowadays, do we?) (c;
    The shows' producers would then have to pay writers and such whereas the Talent-less shows just have to make fools of contestants so the misguided folks at home will feel superior.

  9. They showed clips from this Japanes show on TV many years ago. Maybe a generation ago. We laughed our heads off over how stupid the Japanese were to put up with that crap. And now...?
