Friday Night At The Movies !!

We have Star Choice Satellite at home so after supper Fluff and I decided to check our movie channels to see what our home entertainer par excellence had in store for us this evening. The following is but a few of the Oscar - worthy masterpieces scheduled ...... title and summary.

Flight of the Living Dead : A genetically engineered virus turns passengers aboard a 747 into zombies.

Ogre : Hikers encounter an ogre that requires a human sacrifice.

Lust in Lace : Scantily clad beauties excite eager men.

Swamp Devil : A mysterious swamp - dwelling creature terrorizes small-town Southerners.

Earthstorm : A man must stabilize the moon to save life on Earth.

...........................................AND ..............................................

Harold & Kumar  Go To White Castle : Two stoned roommates go looking for burgers in New Jersey.

AND I REST MY CASE........

  1. Which one or two did you two watch???? *giggles*

We many like that also. But we are lucky enough to have Turner Classic Movies. And most of our pay-per-view are new movies. There are a bunch of porn ones but you just ignore those. And if you channel surf, nothing shows up unless you pay.

It is very frustrating when we have 300 channels on our DirecTv & sometimes there is nothing worth watching!!!

    hugs!!

  2. So true , Julie - Ann... but I was simply reflecting upon the outrageous titles and summaries of some of the utter crap on the screen these days... as we also have Turner Classics and many others to choose from.,glad you made it through the rain and bad weather out there. Hugs !

  3. Wow, what a choice - I just prefer to watch my East Enders - although come to think of it there is a bit of everything you mention in that one. Yesterday grandson tried to kill grandmother in hospital when no-one was around to watch by putting a cushion on her face while she was sleeping. And it was definitely not out of compassion.

  4. Well, I got a movie channel as well, plus they do show movies on a lot of other channels. I got maybe around 30 - 40 channels and yesterday, a Friday, there were absolutely nothing of interest to see on ANY of those channels! I ended up picking out one of my VHS movies that I had not seen for a while. =o)

Thank you so very much for the gift that I got yesterday in the mail! I love it! =o) KRAM

  5. Isn't it the truth! I hear myself in your comments. So many evenings I would like to veg and watch something GOOD but just seems like there is nothing but reality shows and I am tired, very tired of them. These days I am getting a chuckle out of "Two and Half Men" with Charlie Sheen but even that is getting to be alot of the same. The young kid is really good though. I always fall asleep watching a movie on TV, I need the big theatre screen with the big theatre sound then I can stay awake. Maybe next season will bring some creativity to us.

  7. Sort of in the same boat here.. we have Star Choice as well. We saw Atonment and I am Legand. Atonment was sad, the acting was great. I am Legand was scary and sad, the acting was great. We went to the theatre to see Iron Man this week too.. it was interesting, a bit sad, somewhat scary, exciting and the acting was really great. The story was from a comic book. Not having read the comic, we had no preconceived notions. Robert Downey Jr. was as expected - great.

Do you watch Bones? So you watch Numbers? Do you watch Ghost Whisperer?

  8. Berg Heil , Pat ! Thank you for your visit and comment...... and yes , there is some weird stuff on the old screen! I truly love old British sitcoms.. and we do get quite a fw here on PBS stations. Presently I watch Waiting For God , Hyacinth , Summer Wine... and Fawlty Towers when it's available. As for soap operas , ...... my sweet Mom has been dead these last 16 yers but were she to pop back from the grave on a MOnday I feel certain that by Wednesday she'd be up to snuff on what's going on in General Hospital... her favourite ! Hope your dahlias are doing fine.... mine are healthy in pots and boxes indoors for the moment ( about 65 of them )... plus 25 boxes of gladioli and special l;ilies.

  9. So Glad you liked the gift , Mona... HadFluff shown me what she had bought I would have known it was not a dream catcher. We'll get you one soon ! We likewise have a VHS but rarely use it. With our 250 channels here we often end up watching movies or shows we have seen before and liked well enough to see them again. Hope you and Timmy are spending a relaxing and fun weekend over there in the mother country ! HUgs !

  10. Hi there , Daisy. Welcome aboard ! Fluff tells me you have been seeing North America close up ! More power to you ! Yes , I havewatched Charlie Sheen a bit and liked the show . However , not enough to be a reguliar watcher. I really liked LIFE and K-Ville for action dramas but they got caught up in the writers'strike and have vanishd .. at least for now. Maybe next year will bring a flood of good new ones .. wishing you all the best and bon voyage !

  11. Great idea there , Dixxe.... you never come out on the losing end by watching a good Shakespearean movie. I've seen most of them and , as you say , should lay my hands on more . I have a great many old movies on tape and whenever I get really nostalgic I drag out an old Hopalong Cassidy film just to relax. Hope all is well with you and MOm. Hugs !

  12. I have not seen the three movies you mention , Barb.... However , House , Bones and Numbers are on my big list. With Star Choice I find that the signal fades sometimes for no good reason at all... very finicky at times ! Capricious ! At times we are in the midst of a major snowstorm and all is well.... and then wediscover that there is real bad weather to the South of us and out she goes !! However , I think we shall stick with it for a while longer. At least nowadays we don't end up in India when we call in with problems !! LOL

  16. I have Charter Cable and I have to admit I mostly stay on the news and then the Discovery Channel. I have been hung up on the Deadliest Catch now for a few years. For some reason I love that show and also the Dog Whisperer on Nat'l Geo.
When I do watch movies it has to be some real life stuff. NO Sci-Fi for me. LOL
